A new project was started today on the Modesto Island of the Pacific Rim Exchange project. This new facility will be the Pacific Rim Exchange Aquarium.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of the favorite places to visit when students come from Japan, or from anywhere outside of California. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is situated in a rich marine preserve area that is perfect for marine biological study. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is only a few short hours drive from Modesto.
The Modesto students and teachers of the PacRimX Project will be constructing a virtual aquarium modeled after the real Monterey Bay Aquarium. We will have exhibits, aquarium displays, wildlife exhibits, and many other multimedia areas. Students will propose displays and be funded with L$ to support the required texture uploads.
The students have been working on their building skills over the past month, and it’s now time to turn those skills towards our first permanent exhibit.
We will post images as this Aquarium is constructed, and displays set up. We hope to have it completed for a September grand opening. Keep an eye out here for updates and photos.
