Harvard Law School recently concluded a mock trial of Josh Wolf. Josh Wolf is a journalist who took a video of a protest in San Francisco. This was an anti-G8 summit protest. A police officer was wounded during the protest, and Josh was asked to turn over his video of the event to the authorities. Josh refused, and has served 226 days in “coercive custody”. He was released and attended this mock trial in avatar form.

This is yet another unique application of the SL platform for education. Harvard Law School has been very progressive in their use of the SL platform, and they have a nice campus on the Main Grid. These virtual collaborative projects that bring individuals together online from around the United States and world are excellent examples of what works best in this environment.
