There is an article up at Technology News World about the large percentage of European players visiting Second Life:
This article details the breakdown in percentages of players and their country of origin. Funny, it was just last month that I posted the link to the Kit Kat commercial from Europe that featured Second Life. I first became aware of the European population in Second Life while visiting Linden Lab last month as part of the SL Views program.
In my opinion, this is evidence enough that a language translator needs to be integrated into the SL Client. The longest running MMO that has a built in translator to date is Final Fantasy Online. Translation between Asian and US players is seamless. With the global audience that Second Life is building, translation services should be a no-brainer for the people at Linden Lab.
