Avatar Island

Looks like there are new options opening up for new residents of Second Life.

Avatar Island

Avatar Island – CyberExtruder

Avatar Island offers a new resident orientation island, complete with a way to generate a personal avatar likeness of yourself without the need for any advanced Second Life skills. All that is required for creating your realistic self is a postage stamp sized passport photo. I have yet to try this out, as most of my time is spent on the private PacRimX Islands on the Teen Grid.

If others have tried this out, please post a comment to this entry sharing your experience.

  1. Actually it’s pretty cool. The only big issue (or not) is aligning skin tones. If you wear a scarf or high collar, it’s not a problem. 🙂
The effect is good – and well worth the 10 bucks for that unique personal touch. Or why not split the cost across 3 avatars, when it is more like $7.50 each. Also, since you get the image sent back to your PC, you can always tweak it a bit if that’s what you want.

  2. Oh… how rude of me!

PS: Thanks for linking to Slambling!

  3. Thanks for the heads up! Might check it out! 😉
