We always get a lot of surprise visitors when the Japanese students are in town. This year we’ve had a lot of students from last year dropping in, several coming back for several days to help out.
This past Friday we had a very special visitor. Tom Changnon paid us a visit to get a firsthand look at this international project. Mr. Changnon is the Superintendent of Schools for Stanislaus County. He stayed a bit, talked with us about the details of our project, and spent some time interacting with the students and watching them edit their documentaries. He was especially impressed with the quality of the videos the students were producing, and got into a discussion about how the special effects were applied to video shot in the green room.
He thanked us for letting him drop in and interact with the group of students. He was very enthusiastic about what he saw, and said it was nice to see a positive program like this in our county offering a unique experience to students.
